Christiana (Christie) Gallaher, M.a., CCC-SLP, earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and completed her graduate coursework at the University of Colorado-Boulder. During her graduate studies, Christie had the opportunity to work on a grant through the U.S. Dept. of Education, supporting children whose communication needs required use of AAC devices. A pivotal experience for Christie combined her love of summer camp with her interest in working with those who use communication devices at "Talking with Technology" camp in Evergreen, CO. Though more than 20 years ago, the experience changed forever the way Christie learned to support those with diverse communication needs. Since that time, Christie has worked as a speech language pathologist with children ages birth-21 years in classrooms, homes, and community settings. She has served in management and leadership roles in schools and medical model (home health) agencies where she has had the opportunity to teach and mentor therapists, parents, and peers of those who communicate with AAC devices. Christie is committed to embodying the PRC-Saltillo mission of enabling individuals with speech and language impairments to successfully communicate and interact in their environment.
Christie holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) and a state license in Speech Language Pathology from the State of Texas.
