It’s here…from trial to purchase, experience the all-new for a seamless, step-by-step process to request a speech-generating device from health insurance! Collect the information you need. Collaborate with AAC team members in the same shared space. Apply by submitting your funding request.

“We are excited to launch a new way to create, submit, and track funding applications! During development, we worked closely with customers, AAC consultants, and Funding Specialists to improve the experience for everyone. In addition, you can look forward to additional improvements in the coming months,” commented Kara Bidstrup, Certified Product Owner and Stakeholder Manager. “If we all do our part in the new system, we can more easily and efficiently provide our clients with the communication devices they need.”

Top 3 reasons to use the new AAC Funding Portal:

  1. Work together in the same shared space with AAC team members and PRC-Saltillo staff to complete a funding request
  2. Log in to contribute and independently check progress
  3. Receive automated email notifications about your application

How do I learn about the funding process?

Before logging into the new AAC Funding Portal for the first time, be sure to check out all the great information available at This information includes how to borrow a device, an explanation of the funding process, insurance resources, funding forms, support articles and videos, and more!

Where do I go from here?

Now that we’re back live from our brief hiatus, there are a couple of options you can take to get you where you need to go!

Starting a New Application

The Portal now creates a streamlined funding experience from start to finish. Follow these 8 Steps to submit an application for funding a speech-generating device from PRC-Saltillo.

 Step 1: Create a Secure PRC-Saltillo Account

Already have an account? No worries, you don’t need to create another one! Simply log in to your existing account. Learn more!

Step 2: Create a New Application & Add Contributors

Need a trial device from us? Select the application for a trial device. If not, simply select the application for purchase. Next, be sure to invite the necessary people to contribute to your application. These people might include the speech-language pathologist (SLP), primary contact/medical decision maker, and/or the client, depending on who starts the application. Your PRC-Saltillo support staff (AAC Consultant, Funding Specialist, and/or Trial Program Specialist) will be automatically added as contributors to your application. Learn more!

Step 3: Add the Client Information

Have the client’s information ready to easily create the application.

Step 4: Add Insurance & Assignment of Benefits (AOB) Information

Be sure to make copies of the front and back of ALL health insurance cards (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, etc.) and that the policy holder signs an AOB for each insurance. An AOB is an agreement that allows an insurance company to directly work with or pay a third party for services performed on a client's behalf. Once this section is complete, PRC-Saltillo will do an initial review of your insurance. Learn more!

Step 5: AAC Evaluation Report

Complete an evaluation within the portal or upload your own. This report must be written by the evaluating SLP. Learn more!

Step 6: Physician Documents and Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) Script

signed and dated prescription from the physician for all recommended equipment in the AAC Evaluation is required. Be sure the doctor signs ALL necessary CMNs, state documents, and office visit notes (if needed).

Step 7: Upload Equipment Selection Sheet

Be sure to fill out the appropriate Equipment Selection Sheet, making sure the equipment you select matches what appears in the AAC evaluation and physician’s forms.

Step 8: Submit the Application then Sit Back and Check the Status!

Once your application is complete and your insurance has been reviewed, submit your application! After that, simply log in to check the status of your application. Learn more!
