Jennifer Monahan, M.A., CCC-SLP, earned her undergraduate degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences at Ohio University and her Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the Ohio State University in Columbus. Since receiving her Masters, Jennifer has worked as a speech pathologist in the public school setting as well as in private practice, serving all ages. She gained practical, hands-on experiences targeting speech and language skills necessary for functional communication outcomes, performing AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) evaluations and treatments for a variety of age levels and disabilities, and implementing successful therapy plans for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Beginning in 2005, Jennifer has been employed as an Augmentative Communication Consultant for the Prentke Romich Company, allowing her to focus her passion on assisting individuals who require alternative methods for communication and cannot speak verbally. Jennifer has provided continuing education seminars for the Zane Trace Early Childhood Conference, the Ohio School Speech Pathology and Education Audiology Coalition, and the Ohio Speech Language and Hearing Association.
Most recently she was selected as a presenter at the 2012 ISAAC (International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication) conference and enjoys her role as a regular guest lecturer for the Ohio State University College of Education and Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. Jennifer has earned her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
